Paranda Fort


Paranda was important place in history.
In 1124 E.D. this fort was know as Pakiyanda .. this resembles that fort is quite old and built around 1000 yrs before.

Still few are saying he fort was erected by Bahamani kings, who had contribution of building many forts.

The fort is fortified and made impregnable by construction of traversals and redoubts and the ramparts to defend the gate.

For safety the fort is surrounded with moat, which was always kept filled with water. There is only one passage that reaches to the fort.

The fort has 26 bastions, of which the prominent ones are Buruj Mahakal, Mahakal Buruj, Chanchal Buruj, Buland Buruj, Shah Mathkal, and Nassa Yeed- KA3/4 Buruj.
ome of the bastions have old guns ( canon )..

The mosque has capitals and brackets decorated with stylized ornaments.
Although it is belief that it was old Shiva temple early days.

NalDurga Fort


NalDurga Fort 

The Naldurg fort is one of the important ground forts in the Marathawada region. It represents a fine example of the medieval architectural style.

It is believed that the fort was built by Nalaraja (The King Nala). The fort and the city is named after him.
The fort was built in the period of the Chalukya kings of Kalyani. Later, from 1351 to 1480, in the period of the [Bahamani] kings. In 1558, the Adil Shahi rulers, after the downfall of Adil Shahi Kingdom, Naldurg passed into the hands of Moghalain the year 1686.

Ibrahim Adilshah II built the Weir on the river Bori in 1613. The PaniMahal is the best example of architectural style.

Fort is having total 114 Buruj. Still having few canon on Upali Buruj.
